ReDeTec designs and manufactures cutting edge plastic extrusion technology for use with 3D printing. Our patented technology allows customers to recycle waste plastic back into 3D printer filament right at their desk, saving them significant money and waste, while providing unparalleled customization opportunities.
ReDeTec is a small startup, and as such offers a unique learning experience and culture relative to larger corporations. With less than 10 staff total, you’ll be working directly with everyone on the team, and will be able to experience and learn across a wide range of disciplines, including CNC and laser fabrication, software development, business development, product sales and marketing, etc. Everyone “wears ten hats”, so there’s plenty of opportunity to get involved with and learn in multiple roles!
The hardware development team at ReDeTec is responsible for ensuring all aspects of our technology and product design are at the level our customers expect. The team works with both the production and QC team, as well as the business development team, to ensure the products we ship are aligned with our internal expectations for what ReDeTec provides.
This role will see the student working directly with one of our product development leads in two key areas – R&D on core technology improvements, and QC and testing for our production team. Specifically, we are looking to improve our diameter measurement system so that we can maintain measurement accuracy better than 0.01mm across all filament types, and that this system can be easily manufactured and calibrated on our production line.
Project leadership and management experience. CAD design, Solidworks or Autodesk. Basic mechanical fabrication skills, CNC training preferred. Self-organization and time management across a wide range of projects, and ability to quickly learn outside main discipline (i.e. software and electrical skills in addition to mechanical skills).
Area and Level of Study:
